Kathy Weatherl, Profiles Director

Our computer lab has an instructor, Andrew, who works with consumers on learning a variety of computer skills.

David leads an art class.  Many of the items consumers create are sold at our store,  Extraordinary Things.

Profiles was established in 1996. Profiles provides training opportunities to around seventy people with developmental disabilities. Participants are offered training in computers, sign language, art, music, current events, social skills, exercise and recreation.

Profiles has a Values Program and a Sensory Needs Program.  The Values Program is designed for the aging population with developmental disabilities.  The Sensory Needs Room uses a variety of sensory activities to assist our consumers learn new skills and increase their current level of independence.

We offer Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Physical Therapy at Profiles.   We have a full-time Occupational Therapist employed by ILS.  Also, we have a Registered Nurse whose office is located at Profiles.

Working in conjunction with the Faulkner County Council on Developmental Disabilities, Faulkner County Literacy Council, volunteer  from local Universities, and other services in the area, Profiles offers the supports necessary for all consumers to take advantage of the potential for gainful employment and successful community integration.

Our art classes at Profiles have been a wonderful benefit to our consumers.  We have started making cards and calendars out of the art created by individuals in the art classes at Profiles.  Money from the sales of the cards goes back to support people at Independent Living Services.  Click here to go to the ILS Card Store.
